Tomorrow, SC 24 Hour

Was going to write about how sick I've been this past week and still am, and how I don't think tomorrow's race will be going as well as I was expecting. BUT I have to remain positive, in hope that tomorrow I wake up feeling 100% better. Training over the past 4 months have gone very very well for me, I've PRed in 5k, 10k, 1/2 marathon, marathon, and even running a 3:48 50k 2 weeks ago. I am very happy with my training, I've worked very hard to get to where I am. I'm upset that I'm sick and probably won't perform as best as I know I can tomorrow but I am still sticking with my strategy and aiming for high mileage. And maybe being sick will make me start out slower and help me in later stages of the race. This is the last chance to qualify for USA 24 hour Team for 2014. To just qualify I need 120 miles. To make the team I need 123 or more depending on what other women do at this event also. I would absolutely love to make the USA team team tomorrow, but I

8 Days. Thoughts and Strategy.

I haven't been letting myself get worked up over SC24 Hour , but I am glad to be running this event so I can see where I stand with the "long distance" in ultra running. I have become stronger and faster, and I have learned to control my pace. I have goals for this race. 17:00 100 mile 125+ miles in 24 hours Mainly, qualify for the USA 24 Hour Team. I have a strategy, it involves running, obviously, but I do plan to stay consistent for most of the first 100 miles. Worries, That I will get dizzy. There won't be Oreos. My feet will break. I'll DNF. My Hokas will explode. Looking forward to, Being lapped by Zach Bitter, about 80+ times. Running in warm weather. No mud. Qualifying. If I run 120+ miles,  I'm going on a vacation, not to a race but on an actual vacation where you wear clothes that aren't covered in sweat and have a sport brand name, maybe somewhere where Mickey Mouse lives, yah I'd like to go to Disney World or maybe go the beach and just lay

USA 50k ROAD CHAMPIONSHIPS & a PR

I t's pretty funny how goals happen and even when it's very unexpected . I started training for Delirium 24 Hour with a fast 100 mile time in my head, I ended with 79.67 miles in 12:54. 9:44 pace. I do regret now, not even walking those last 20 miles, I  would have set a PR for 100. But now I'm looking at it as a training run to hit qualifying 120+ miles in 24 hours at SC 24 Hour Track Race. The past few months I have had some major PRs in various distances all while not training for that distance but with my main goal of 24 hours. Which has me thinking I wonder how I would have done if I trained for that specific event.  My biggest PR is with the 50k. Previous 50k PR is 4:11 @ Mad Marsh 50k in South Carolina. So leading into Caumsett 50k Championships  I wasn't thinking that I would PR because I just had ran Delirium 3 weeks prior and I had 2 weeks to go to SC24. I asked around about Caumsett, and heard that it was a fast course and a lot of runners PR there, but there
