8 Days. Thoughts and Strategy.

I haven't been letting myself get worked up over SC24 Hour, but I am glad to be running this event so I can see where I stand with the "long distance" in ultra running. I have become stronger and faster, and I have learned to control my pace.

I have goals for this race.
17:00 100 mile
125+ miles in 24 hours
Mainly, qualify for the USA 24 Hour Team.

I have a strategy, it involves running, obviously, but I do plan to stay consistent for most of the first 100 miles.

Worries, That I will get dizzy. There won't be Oreos. My feet will break. I'll DNF. My Hokas will explode.

Looking forward to, Being lapped by Zach Bitter, about 80+ times. Running in warm weather. No mud. Qualifying.

If I run 120+ miles, I'm going on a vacation, not to a race but on an actual vacation where you wear clothes that aren't covered in sweat and have a sport brand name, maybe somewhere where Mickey Mouse lives, yah I'd like to go to Disney World or maybe go the beach and just lay there in the sand because I'm pretty sure I won't be able to walk. Oh and I'm also adopting a pit bull.

After, cake.

Worlds End Ultra 50k

If you don't look off to the sides, bears aren't there.  If you don't focus so much on the trail infront of you, you don't see snakes...  Maybe that noise I just heard was just some other runner falling into rubbish or maybe it's a bear? Well no bear and no snakes sights during this event, which is a win in my eyes!  World's End Ultra Marathon.   Location: Worlds End State Park, Pennsylvania  Distance: 50k Elevation gain: 6200+ft Course conditions: Wet, Mud Nutrition: 2 liters water, 4 oz coke. Looking back at all the ultra marathons I have ran (over 30 finishes) closer to over 40 If you want to count the few DNFs and a few distance switches. Besides the point, out of 30+ ultras I have ran, Worlds End is the toughest, most challenging course I have come across for the 50k distance, and to make the race even more brutal, we ran it in a heat wave. Rewind to 2 weeks prior. I got an email that my name was selected off the waitlist to be a participant. I ...

Happy and Thankful

Most runners follow a 16 week training plan leading into a marathon. Me well 9 weeks ago I began to run again after being out 14 weeks with a stress fracture in my femur.  Within the 9 weeks I have won a 100k and 12 hour both setting new course records. Yesterday I ran a marathon PR of 3:02:22. I do not think I would have done these things without having a strong determined mind to get back out there doing what I love. I want to thank Altra Running because I now have left all my trust in their Olympus sneakers to keep my feet and body healthy and moving. Also, BRL sports, with Trifuel I have completed my races with no stomach issues and loads of energy. I have 4 weeks until NJ 12 Hour. Let the fun continue!
